Red jasper is another stone which is thought to be responsible for helping us to connect with the deep, stabilizing energies of the earth.  It is known to promote physical energy, creativity, independence, as well as a sense of responsibility. Jasper is a stone of grounding and relaxation, making it a wonderful stone for keeping our emotions in check.  It is known to bring tranquility, wholeness, and healing to oneself. It is sometimes called the “supreme nurturing stone,” yet is has also been used by many shamans to provide protection. Our ancestors revered Jasper as sacred, protective, and as a facilitator of safe astral travel.

Composition: an aggregate of microgranular quartz ( silicon dioxide) and/or chalcedony and other mineral phases
Color: red, orange.  The color range is due to the higher levels of iron in this type of Jasper.
